Latino author and producer E.H. de la Espriella is thrilled to introduce the first in a series of children’s picture books titled When The Sun Came Out At Night. The story takes place one magical night on an island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean where Koa and his family live.

This project began in 2021 and borrows the stories that the author and his brother used to tell each other at bedtime when they were little. With illustrations by Costa Rican artist Sergio Guillén and creative direction by the author, the design plays with color and light to evoke the moments that Koa’s family experienced during one fantastic night. The characters and scenery are beautifully illustrated to bring an almost three-dimensional feeling to every scene. To learn more about it, read the Reflections Blog Article.
